Inspiring Calligraphers to Explore Interdependence

Though the Hexagon Project is often identified as an arts and education project for students, we also take the message of interdependence to community events, groups and organizations. In May of this year Beth Burkhauser was a guest artist and conducted a workshop at Marywood University for the Calligraphers’ Guild of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The workshop presented hexagonal book formats and invited participants to apply their calligraphic talents in exploring aspects of interdependence.

Hexagons created by the Calligraphers’ Guild

Motivated by quotes reinforcing the themes of interdependence and interconnectedness, the members of the guild created a Hexagonal-Flower Book. You can see what the calligraphers’ guild had to say in their Facebook post about the workshop.
